Analysis

Human grace shines brightest through the act of forgiveness. In Ho’oponopono, Step 5 asks us to forgive the “crazy” within ourselves and others. This mirrors Carl Jung’s ideas of the “shadow self.” Jung believed everyone hides impulses they fear or reject. Recognizing our shared flaws helps us connect with others more honestly.

The quote from The Basic Text reveals a deep longing to feel seen, even in our worst moments. It recalls Brené Brown’s research on shame and vulnerability. In Daring Greatly, Brown shows how healing begins when we speak our truth without fear. Naming the “crazy” brings it into the light, where grace can meet it.

The second quote, from 12 & 12, speaks of earning forgiveness. Feeling worthy of it often proves harder than receiving it. Deserving forgiveness starts with believing in our humanity. Philosopher Hannah Arendt once said, “Forgiveness is the key to action and freedom.” When we accept our mistakes, we release their power over us.

Jean-Paul’s quote links prayer and forgiveness. His words echo the universal need to ask and offer peace. Forgiveness invites humility. It lifts us beyond ego and fear. It says, “You are not your worst moment.” That is grace in action.

Forgiveness does not excuse harm. It opens a door. When we forgive, we let go of blame to grow beyond it. That is the spirit of Ho’oponopono; a sacred cleansing of heart and mind.

PERDONAR LA LOCURA
EN CADA UNO DE NOSOTROS –

“Alguien finalmente supo

(12 y 12, p. 57)

“La humanidad nunca es tan hermosa
como cuando ora
por perdón, o
perdona a otro.”
— Jean-Paul (1763 – 1825),
autor y humorista alemán

Spanish Translation – Analysis

Dice: “No eres tu peor momento.” Eso es gracia en acción.

Perdonar no excusa el daño. Abre una puerta. Al perdonar, soltamos la culpa y crecemos. Ese es el espíritu del Ho’oponopono.

I was so very happy to see this post. Ho’ Oponopono is one of, if not the highest form of Emotional Inteligence and wisdom a human can achieve in our duality. It is profound wisdom and a great a sage enlightened human shared with me and I aspire to its state of awareness.
