Analysis: The Alchemical Power of Amends

Today’s Zonr post explores the power of amends to the living. The Little Red Book warns against the trap of useless remorse. We must not let past errors stall our future. Instead, we serve those still with us. This action restores our spiritual utility. We find a Higher Power to guide our recovery. The Basic Text describes this force for growth. It helps us become patient and tolerant. Surrender fuels this new way of living. We trade false pride for a humble heart. Wellbriety wisdom echoes this vital shift. “Healing is a gift from the Great Spirit” (White Bison, 2002).

Viktor Frankl suggested that meaning drives the human spirit (Frankl, 1946). We choose how to respond to suffering. Thich Nhat Hanh urges us to transform negative energy. This alchemy makes life deeply meaningful. Active service turns pain into a positive force. Consequently, our past becomes a foundation for others. We build a life truly worth living.

When I read,” till you use me up”, I was waiting to click on the real O.G.’s Bill Withers song, use me…
Negative energy has to be dealt with.
I will look at a situation for example if somebody is not responsible in their part… I will talk to them personally then if that doesn’t work then I need to ask the next person in the chain of command… and then no matter what the outcome I have won because I faced it head on with a positive assertive attitude…

If I can help one person today, I will share my experience in recovery and let them know that we can recover, we can heal. And even when at first it does not just magically get better. that with time and grace we can regain our life.

Thank you for sharing recovery with me. Grateful.

I remember one night, although I felt tired, and kind of down and out, still I was able to call the ambulance for someone. In our society a lot of care can be seen as being an empath, but I instead compliment it by expressing it as a lot of compassion. Sometimes, I’d think my good karma would’ve already occurred with all the good I do upon humanity. Although I have to admit I do already kind of see my good karmic circle wanting to take effect. In C.O.D.A. I learn though although I want to be caring of course for all who I can – I still need boundaries for my own protection. The meetings are allowing me to stay supportive of others while still maintaining my safe space when need be. The individual I really had to vouch for in receiving care that night with the ambulance seemed exhausted from the harsh streets. One day I can even add more to humanity by starting a Non-Profit, and talking to other Non-Profits too, about changes that are so needed right now.

FEATURED POST FROM THE ZONR VAULT – “When I was cut off on the road today, I felt anger, but I told myself a couple things. One, I’m not in a hurry. Second, that is a person without an effective spiritual program, and probably suffering because of it. Then I laughed at their misfortune. Which wasn’t the what I was going for. So I tried to feel more compassion.” (Orginal post Dec 24, 2012)

A happy, merry and blessed Christmas Eve to us all. May my sins become lessons; my failures remove all doubts – I survived those mistakes, I am loved and cared for, how can I doubt my Higher Power? My abundance becomes clearer and clearer each day. I know serenity and peace when I know gratitude. Peace out!

thanks margot, i really needed to hear that
mistakes do not call for judgement and punishment
i always tend to beat myself up over and over for past mistakes.. or go to the other extreme and blame others..
there is a balance to be had.

A life worth living sounds great – although not using my emotional state thwarts the force of life – so I MUST work the program to live at all.

Making amends to myself. I can choose to give myself forgiveness for how I lived my life – Mistakes do not call for judgment and punishment, but correction and learning. This season, the gift I give myself is letting my Higher Power remove the guilt, worry and fear I have lived with so long. I step aside and Let Go and Let God. What a wonderful present for myself.
