Zonr Post Analysis: The Alchemical Power of Gratitude

The post highlights the transformative power of gratitude. As Bill Sees It describes a heart brimming with thankfulness. This feeling naturally produces outgoing love for others. We fill the old spiritual void with this light. Consequently, a deep spiritual awakening occurs within us. It Works, How & Why emphasizes this massive shift. Our desire to serve a Higher Power grows daily.

Eckhart Tolle links the foundation of abundance to present goodness. Recognizing current blessings unlocks future riches. Similarly, the Dalai Lama teaches that compassion brings true joy (Dalai Lama, 2011). Genuine happiness arises from serving our fellow human beings. As a result, we must abandon false pride to find this path. Humility opens the door to oceans of love. Wellbriety wisdom also champions this healing connection. “Gratitude is the heartbeat of our recovery journey” (White Bison, 2002, p. 45). This rhythm guides us toward a life of purpose.

The spiritual gift of joy is walking on a daily basis with Jesus. It brings a peace inside me that transcends happiness.
He offers guidance and strength through his spirit creating a Purpose Driven Life replacing fear and worry with his presence.

Being of service advances my happiness. Acts of service, seen or unseen that make life better for others brings a feeling of satisfaction and happiness. Today, I plan on continuing acts of service and carrying that forward every day of my life.

Thank you for sharing recovery with me. Grateful.

In order that my thoughts, actions, and words advance my own happiness, I am learning to embrace being uncomfortable within reason (not self sabotage). To grow requires us to do things beyond our perceived capacity and growing pains are real. The anxiety with facing fears are real. The depression that comes with the death of your old self is real. However, it is all apart of the process. And if one is able to stand in faith and endure you will be pleased with the version of yourself that emerges on the other side.

Ease is a greater threat to progress than hardship.

I paid the last of the bills I have outstanding and also made partial amends to someone close in my life. The latter will be an ongoing process. Change in behavior will take time but I can do it.

I find it extremely useful to view my happiness as relating to how well my actions, words and thoughts align. So when I ask myself, “am I happy” I don’t immediately go to my feelings about people places or things at that moment but rather how I feel about my own actions, words and thoughts.

Which means that 90% of the time I feel I am happy unless I feel I owe someone an amends. That naws at me like it did when I had to apologize to my mom for overreacting to her continuing evolution on lgbt matters and the church.
