Analysis: The Architecture of a New Mind

Step 10 demands daily vigilance. We must watch for selfishness and fear. The Big Book calls love and tolerance our code. This work lasts a lifetime. It is not an overnight matter. We surrender our actions to the Creator. A Higher Power guides our self-reflection. We must cast aside false pride during this process.

Thoughts eventually manifest as deeds. Buddha warns that habits harden into character. We must cultivate love at the source. William James noted that habits create physical paths in the brain (James, 1890). He believed our will shapes these neural grooves. Continuous inventory prevents us from slipping back. We guard against old ways of reacting.

The Basic Text reminds us that we are creatures of habit. Therefore, we must inspect our attitudes regularly. Wellbriety emphasizes this spiritual hygiene. “We must keep our focus on the Red Road” (White Bison, 2002). This discipline ensures our character remains strong. True change happens through consistent practice. Love remains the ultimate goal of every deed.

Análisis

    I want to start exercising. Even in a small way at first. Beyond the notions of sort of looking good (because that does help my self esteem) working out does make me feel good, genuinely. I have some chronic pain issues, so some working out is off the table, like jogging for example, but I think it’s worthwhile and I’d like to try!

    Viewing and soaking in positive affirmations and putting my hearts dreams and desires out into the universe ~ and working out . I’d like to start working out daily on my physical self, which will in tune with my mental wellness and healing ~

    Striving for small goals seem more attainable than say a New Year’s resolution… something real simple like in the morning drinking a cup of water, before I drink my cup of coffee…

    Consistency and following up. To live in my integrity, it is important to be consistent with actions, and following up. In many ways they are interconnected and even as separate skills, with practice, and mindful intention, they become part of who I am. Both are connected to honest integrity. When I interact with someone, from my Higher Power, to myself, to any person, I strive to be consistent and always follow up. These skills, build through repetition and practice become part of my word and honesty.

    I’m using the breathing technique I’ve been taught to regulate my internal reaction to the types of situations that cause me the greatest distress. Either it’s working or those situations are occurring less frequently. I think the latter may also be a result of the technique as well.

    When I go to my meetings I tended in the past to leave right after, or immediatly go to the nearest person to console myself in my anxiety of not knowing anyone there. Latley I have chosen to recognize the speaker and go up and thank them for sharing there experience right away. An old timer in the rooms did this and instructed me to make it a habbit. I still forget to do that but I am getting better at it. I attract better outcomes for myself when I show this gratitude for the speaker in that setting.
