Analysis: The Alchemy of Willingness and Change

History records the Women’s March as a massive shift in collective action. The Big Book highlights willingness as an essential tool for growth. We must release our old, heavy baggage to move forward. This process requires help from a Higher Power. We ask for strength when we cannot let go.

Transformation often feels scary, but remains vital for survival. Overeaters Anonymous notes that change is always frightening. However, we must go to any length for recovery. Nelson Mandela once said that courage is not the absence of fear (Mandela, 1994). Instead, courage represents the triumph over that fear. We must move ahead to do what is best.

Amanda Gorman suggests merging mercy with might for a lasting legacy. This union creates a birthright of change for our children. Wellbriety principles echo this need for spiritual connection. “Willingness is the key to all spiritual growth” (White Bison, 2002, p. 34). Consequently, we find peace through our daily inventory. Love becomes the ultimate goal of our journey.

What is one old habit you want to leave behind to be happier?

I wound like to de-center romantic love, and focus on my own self love, health & fitness, sobriety, my music career and divine purpose and ascension .

What have you been willing to do to bring about positive changes in your life lately?

I have been willing to change my friends and improve the quality of people I spend time with, ensuring that the individuals I share energy with are gently supporting the best things about myself, as I gently support in them.

Believe in myself, that through effort I can learn and be a better person. Each day, each step, every moment, improve who I am and step closer into becoming the person I long to be. What I do, I tend to keep doing, unless by my discomfort or action, I take the steps, small at the beginning, to change who I am. With the guidance of my HP and a willing universal force, change becomes easy and without resistance.

Thank you for sharing recovery with me. Grateful.

First it takes a willingness to change, then it takes courage, discipline and action… once I’m involved and working the steps to the best of my ability the positive change starts to happen little by little day by day…

I have fear of success. When things go well I self destruct. Lately my focus on recovery is lessening my worry.

Examining barriers is a useful task in that it may provide some insight into the individual and his/her needs. I’m still in the discovery phase.
