“TIL YOU USE ME UP” – “We simply realize there is a force for spiritual growth that can help us become more tolerant, patient, and useful in helping others. Many of us have said, ‘Take my will and my life. Guide me in my recovery. Show me how to live.’ ” (The Basic Text, p. 26)
“You can use your life in a very useful and intelligent way. You can very well transform that negative energy into a positive energy that empowers you and makes life meaningful.”
– Thich Nhat Hanh (1926 – ) Vietnamese spiritual teacher/ author
How have you transformed negative energy into positive energy, lately?
The Two Frogs :
Once, two frogs fell into a pot of cream. They could not get out of the pot. So they swam round and round in the cream.
“Oh, this is the end of my life,” said one of them. It stopped swimming and died.
But the second frog swam and swam and beat the cream with its little feet. The cream became a ball of butter. The frog jumped on the ball of butter and got out of the pot!
So, never give in. (http://www.english-for-students.com/The-Two-Frogs-1.html)
FEATURED POST FROM THE ZONR VAULT – “When I was cut off on the road today, I felt anger, but I told myself a couple things. One, I’m not in a hurry. Second, that is a person without an effective spiritual program, and probably suffering because of it. Then I laughed at their misfortune. Which wasn’t the what I was going for. So I tried to feel more compassion.” (Orginal post Dec 24, 2012)
Kindness.
A happy, merry and blessed Christmas Eve to us all. May my sins become lessons; my failures remove all doubts – I survived those mistakes, I am loved and cared for, how can I doubt my Higher Power? My abundance becomes clearer and clearer each day. I know serenity and peace when I know gratitude. Peace out!
So true Margo. Its hard to be useful when we’re all beaten up.
thanks margot, i really needed to hear that
mistakes do not call for judgement and punishment
i always tend to beat myself up over and over for past mistakes.. or go to the other extreme and blame others..
there is a balance to be had.
A life worth living sounds great – although not using my emotional state thwarts the force of life – so I MUST work the program to live at all.
Making amends to myself. I can choose to give myself forgiveness for how I lived my life – Mistakes do not call for judgment and punishment, but correction and learning. This season, the gift I give myself is letting my Higher Power remove the guilt, worry and fear I have lived with so long. I step aside and Let Go and Let God. What a wonderful present for myself.
