SPIRITUAL HARMONY & HAPPINESS – “Incorporating the spiritual principles we learned in the first nine steps into our lives has made it possible to live in harmony with ourselves and others. Self-examination … and owning up to our wrongs are critical elements of conducting our lives on a spiritual basis.” (It Works, How & Why,p. 69)
“Happiness is when what you think, what you say, and what you do are in harmony.”
– Mahatma Gandhi (1869 – 1948) Gandhi – India Independence Movement Leader from British rule

i thank You God for most this amazing
day:for the leaping greenly spirits of trees
and a blue true dream of sky;and for everything
which is natural which is infinite which is yes
(i who have died am alive again today,
and this is the sun’s birthday; this is the birth
day of life and love and wings and of the gay
great happening illimitably earth)
how should tasting touching hearing seeing
breathing any-lifted from the no
of all nothing-human merely being
doubt unimaginable You?
(now the ears of my ears awake and
now the eyes of my eyes are opened)
FEATURED POST FROM THE ZONR VAULT – “I paint my nails. It’s an act of freedom. Only one hand and not the other. Apparent harmony and disharmony.” (Orig. post Tony O., 12/31/2018)
I paid the last of the bills I have outstanding and also made partial amends to someone close in my life. The latter will be an ongoing process. Change in behavior will take time but I can do it.
I find it extremely useful to view my happiness as relating to how well my actions, words and thoughts align. So when I ask myself, “am I happy” I don’t immediately go to my feelings about people places or things at that moment but rather how I feel about my own actions, words and thoughts.
Which means that 90% of the time I feel I am happy unless I feel I owe someone an amends. That naws at me like it did when I had to apologize to my mom for overreacting to her continuing evolution on lgbt matters and the church.
letting the steps lay a foundation, makes it easier to defeat negative obsessive feelings.
