BECOMING A PART OF THE HUMAN RACE – “As we have dealt lovingly with every person in our lives, our spiritual awakening has become a reality. To the best of our ability, we’ve cleaned up the wreckage of the past and we are at peace with the world.” (12 & 12, p. 52)
“The sons of Adam are limbs of each other. Having been created of one essence. When the calamity of time affects one limb, the other limbs cannot remain at rest. If thou hast no sympathy for the troubles of others, thou art unworthy to be called by the name of man [or woman].” – Sa’di Shirazi (1184 – 1283/1291) Persian poet
How have you shown empathy for others, lately?

On Rules for Conduct in Life –
by Sa’di
Admonition 1
The amity of princes and the sweet voice of children are not to be trusted.
Because the former is changed by fancy and the latter in the course of one night.
Give not thy heart to a sweetheart of a thousand lovers,
And if thou givest it, thou givest that heart for separation.
Admonition 2
Confide not to a friend every secret thou possessest.
How knowest thou that he will not some time become thy foe?
Inflict not every injury thou canst upon an enemy.
Because it is possible that one day he may become thy friend.
Admonition 3
Reveal not thy secret to any man although he may be trustworthy,.
Because no one can keep thy secret better than thyself.
Silence is preferable than to tell thy mind
To anyone; saying what is to remain unsaid.
O simpleton, stop the source of the spring.
When it becomes full, the brook cannot be stopped.

for me, empathy and humility go hand in hand.the more that I am able to feel the pain of others the more I feel connected with my own humanity. and that helps merespond to others with a sense that we are all equal and share the same pain.
Good morning everyone + Happy Wednesday. Here is today’s thought. Sometimes we may feel separate, we may feel alone. But, we never are alone. We have each other + in each other, we are one. So today, let’s go forward to a new day. hold the hand of another, + rejoice in the Spirit of Love. Blessings. BB
JB jr. is back … wooohooo.
I’m having internet connection issues. Again. So I’m doing this from a library. These excursions to public internet points of access are times when I can, if I choose to interact with those I’d probably not meet in my every day travels. Outside of meetings, of course.
Just a quick note: I miss JB and Easy.
The balance for me – because I have boundary problems in relationships with others – is to be aware of others and be as supportive as possible without crossing the line into “taking care of” them. As Melody Beatie said, “I cannot simultaneously set boundaries and take care of the feelings of others.” I pray that today I will be kind – to myself and to others.
