To An Orphan Child
by Thomas Hardy
A Whimsey
AH, child, thou art but half thy darling mother’s;
Hers couldst thou wholly be,
My light in thee would outglow all in others;
She would relive to me.
But niggard Nature’s trick of birth
Bars, lest she overjoy,
Renewal of the loved on earth
Save with alloy.
The Dame has no regard, alas, my maiden,
For love and loss like mine–
No sympathy with mind-sight memory-laden;
Only with fickle eyne.
To her mechanic artistry
My dreams are all unknown,
And why I wish that thou couldst be
But One’s alone!
Being over-whelmed seems to be the norm for me lately but I manage because I think about how it was before and thats a place I rather not go back to.
it’s not easy but I am learning to breed and feeling overwhelmed.then if I really try and speak and I measured waythe situation doesn’t seem to escalate.
Sin bad faith good 😉
Good morning everyone + Happy Thursday. Here is today’s thought. Faith + obedience are two things which will give us all the strength we need to overcome sin + temptation and to live a new + abundant life. (Hazelden) Blessings. BB
Sometimes I resent having to work the program every day – but when I don’t it’s worse – “harden” is a good word, nothing goes in or out and I am in a state of misery.
