Analysis: The Celestial Mirror

An eclipse momentarily hides the sun. It reveals a hidden, celestial dance. Twelve Steps and Twelve Traditions calls this a glimpse of ultimate reality. We find comfort in this grand design. This vision secures our tiny place in the cosmos. We seek the path of our Great Mystery.

Humility begins when we stop needing every answer. It Works: How and Why describes this as open-mindedness. Naturalist John Muir saw the world as a “dewdrop” in space. This perspective mirrors the wisdom of Wellbriety. “The Great Spirit is in all things” (White Bison, 2002, p. 2).

Carl Sagan also reminded us of our shared cosmic origin. He called Earth a “pale blue dot” (Sagan, 1994, p. 6). These leaders teach us to marvel at the infinite. We surrender our need for control to find peace.

(12 y 12, p. 98)

John Muir (1838 – 1914) Naturalista y autor escocés-estadounidense

Learning to accept the things I cannot change and the way I react to those things is a part of my spiritual growth… spiritual growth for me happens gradually as long as I keep my faith centered on my higher power…

My spiritual life grows when I honor it, nurture it and most of all, use it.

Thank you for sharing recovery with me. Grateful.

When looking up at the stars, I remember that I am just one tiny piece of the grand scheme of things. But even though I am small, I am important.

I do feel my spirituality as my extra great reinforcement working to get me where I want to be, and it does take a lot of believing that what I want I will be granted. I think through consistency in life matters, plus control of thoughts and not letting ones that want to bring me down, will make the believes I want to come true – will come true. There’s something I have to believe in mysterious like form working to get me better, and that can get even greater through believing.

An interesting thing that has recently happened is before I prayed about something, that prayer was answered… so I guess one of the many mystery’s
is that my Higher Power knows what I need before I pray for it… I always pray that his will be done not mine… that way I am prepared for whatever the outcome. If he wants something to go through the door will be open wide and if not he will slam the door shut….and i will accept the outcome…

I know that I don’t know and that my purpose here is not to carry the burden of knowing everything. My purpose is to learn how to love and accept love. The rest I will leave up to my higher power and trust in faith.

My higher power continues to make sure my needs are met so long as a stay clean and work on my recovery. For some mysterious reason though he continues to allow my finances to get critically low before restoring the coffers. Although he has never let me go without he has also left little room for error on several occasions.

Hello everyone. Being a minister, I am asked the question of “WHY” after a horrific event has happened. “WHY” does our Creator allow horrible things happen. All I can say, through my own tears, is that God is with us. He is with us during s bad event. He is with us during the rebuilding process. Just remember that our Creator is always with us and has a master plan for our lives. Please keep in prayer our sisters and brothers in Oklahoma as they struggle through their heavy loss. Blessings. One mystery for me is that this is a question of which came first, the chicken or the egg. I need trust in order to convince myself to turn things over to god, but in order to trust, I need proof that if I let go, whatever it is isn’t going to go to complete crap. And my life wasn’t great, but it wasn’t complete crap before either. So I’m learning to just let go of things I have no control over anyway. But the things I’m managing quite well I will continue to do so.

“…success and failure are above all answers.” So, success and failure are questions as well? Dependent on my interpretation of outcomes? So, do I assign the value of success or failure? When I do not reach the budget goals at work, that is feedback to me about trying new strategies to meet / exceed the amount we agreed on last year. My Higher Power provides lessons – it is up to me that I look for the lesson and change direction when necessary.
