THE PATH WITHOUT RESERVATION –

“When we have finally admitted without reservation that we are powerless … we are apt to breathe a great sigh of relief, saying, “Well, thank God that’s over!” “Then we learn, … that this is only the first milestone on the new road we are walking.” (12 & 12, p. 73) on being grateful.

Analysis: The Power of Gratitude

Gratitude heals our weary spirits. As Bill Sees It recommends taking an inventory of blessings. This simple habit shifts our entire focus. We notice beauty instead of heavy burdens. A Higher Power provides quiet comfort through these gifts.

Old fears lose their tight grip on us. The NA Basic Text reveals this liberating truth. Morning prayers and evening thanks chase away deep anxiety. Brian Tracy champions this exact mindset for daily life. He urges us to celebrate every single step forward.

Wellbriety teachings echo this timeless wisdom. “Gratitude opens the door to our Creator’s heart” (White Bison, 2002, p. 134). Seneca also noted that thankfulness enriches the mind (Seneca, 1965). He believed appreciation creates lasting inner peace. We transform our world by simply counting our blessings. Joy follows this path of humble awareness.

The greatest gift in my recovery today is freedom from bondage….
To have the obsession lifted is the greatest gift ever. And knowing what to do once I get a thought… I know how to crush that thought I know how to stop it before it becomes an obsession once it becomes an obsession it’s over it wins every time… so the gift for me is not allowing that thought to become an obsession… truly a wonderful gift the program has to offer
