Forgiveness Healing Guided Meditation (9:12)

Analysis: The Heart of True Courage

Courage demands a whole heart. Brené Brown reminds us of this vital truth. We must face our past to find lasting peace. Twelve Steps and Twelve Traditions calls this process “house cleaning.” This difficult work ends our inner conflicts. We also mend our ties to the outside world. Healing begins with a brave look inward.

It Works: How and Why discusses spiritual preparation. Previous steps give us strength for Step Eight. We list those we harmed with total honesty. This action breaks the grip of self-obsession. Remorse often feels heavy at first. Eventually, willingness lightens our heavy burden. We move steadily toward a brighter future.

Maya Angelou taught that courage is the greatest virtue (Angelou, 1993). Without it, we cannot practice other virtues consistently. This wisdom aligns perfectly with Wellbriety teachings. “Forgiveness is for the person who forgives” (White Bison, 2002, p. 110). We release the poison of old hurts. Our Great Spirit guides this difficult journey. Vulnerability creates a strong bridge to others. We share our stories to stay free.

I always feel much better about telling the truth. Even if there are consequences that i don’t like, there is a relief in being honest.

I definitely prefer to be the one to forgive than the one who needs to ask for forgiveness. Last time I asked someone for forgiveness, I was left unread. It does feel good to at least have done that.

The great unburdening is to tell the truth. It removes emotional weight that otherwise I would have to carry. Freeing my shoulders from the burden of the past, in every form is a step toward freedom and rebirth.

Thank you for sharing recovery with me. Grateful.

The best part of forgiveness is the freedom and inner peace it brings… it directly mirrors the grace of God extended to us through Christ!

I find it hard to celebrate all of me. When things are bad and I don’t know how I got there. It takes time to find something to celebrate. I’m going through one of those times in my life.

I tried asking for forgiveness today but I am not sure the other party sees it that. I suppose it my turn to be patient now.

Good morning everyone + Happy Tuesday. Here is today’s thought, FAITH. Faith is the bridge between you + God. When we cross this bridge of faith, we make the venture of belief + can believe that fundamentally that all is well. Say this prayer. “Lord help me trust in you. Help me increase my faith in you. Help me especially when my faith is weak in you.” Keep the faith. Blessings. BB

I recently tried to make an amends but the amendee either didn’t see it as such or is still a bit miffed. Nevertheless, I extended the offer and we’ll see where we go from here.

My conflicts begin when I attempt to control. Control is smoke and mirrors – control is an illusion. I only have control when I can convince others that they have no power. We all have power and we always have power. Simply the capacity to make a decision. That I exist in three dimensions (body, mind and spirit) means I am constantly making choices, decisions, about how I hold myself in this world. I have power – I have no control.
