The 8 Days Hanukkah Now begin: Where Love, Light & Peace Bring Us Together as One – Step 9

PEACE ON EARTH STARTS AT HOME – “As we have dealt lovingly with every person in our lives, our spiritual awakening has become a reality. To the best of our ability, we’ve cleaned up the wreckage of the past, and we are at peace with the world.” (OA 12 & 12, p. 81)

THE MIRACLE THAT SHINES LIGHT ALONG OUR HUMBLING PATH –  “This is a very large order. It is a task which we may perform with increasing skill, but never really finish.  Learning how to live in the greatest peace, partnership, and brotherhood with all men and women, of whatever description, is a moving and fascinating adventure.”  (12 & 12, p. 77)

“To me, every hour of the light and dark is a miracle, every cubic inch of space is a miracle.”

– Walt Whitman (1819 – 1892) U.S. poet

What lessons have you learned lately that help with your relations with others?

The Sun and The Moon :

In the distant past, the moon used to be as bright as the sun.

This meant that mankind could not tell day from night, as it was always light.

There were all kinds of problems. People never knew when it was time to get up or when it was time to go to bed.

The Lord realised that was happening and at once ordered the Archangel Gabriel to spread his wings and veil the light of the moon.

And thus, the marks which we see on the surface of moon are scratches made by the angel’s long wings.

The lesson that is hardest for me to learn is how to be more useful for those that I’m close to. I think that I’ll offer to clean the dishes after our Christmas dinner tonite. Just not sure why little things like that are so difficult for me to do.

But when it comes to helping out in a “crisis” I seem to leap at the chance.

Love, light, and peace bring us together as one in the sense that when i am living a life full of love, in goodness, and peace with others i dont hurt others. It keeps my side of the street clean and im able to be helpful to others and stay out of self.

It is very easy for me to slip back in to old selfish behavior and thinking without continually being of service to others. And I realize that for me to be completely present for others during conversations and interactions, I have to make a conscious effort.

What a wonderful gift that are sharing with us while you are overseas. Thank-you Margo.

I am determined this year to really examine more than I have in the past, my relations with other. I have lots of supports in that regard so now is the time to do it.

That will be my contribution to Peace on Earth this coming year.

Having survived Christmas (and in a different country) I am learning that wishing don’t make it so – but it goes a long way towards opening some of the windows of my mind. To all my brothers and sisters who walk this path with me – Happy Reflection Week.
