Analysis: The Horizon of Unconditional Love

Love transforms our narrow vision. How Al-Anon Works suggests we look deeper. We find a part untouched by disease. This practice requires a shift in focus. We do not tolerate the intolerable. Instead, we seek the human heart. This path leads to spiritual freedom.

Self-judgment fades with true love. Twelve Steps and Twelve Traditions links love to humility. Humility and self-loathing cannot coexist. This awareness changes our internal landscape. We treat ourselves with newfound mercy. Grace flows from our Great Mystery. Consequently, we stop judging our own mistakes.

Albert Schweitzer called for “reverence for all life.” Thich Nhat Hanh echoes this sentiment deeply. He states that “understanding is love’s other name” (Hanh, 2015, p. 24). Knowledge creates a bridge to compassion. Wellbriety teachings reinforce this sacred connection. “We must see the spirit in everyone” (White Bison, 2002, p. 142). This vision honors the Higher Power within.

Waking up early in the morning and heading out when everything is quiet has been really nice. I get to listen to the birds wake up, watch people in their quiet moments, and say hi to a lot of dogs. It’s good.

For me I have to cultivate a relationship with Jesus to receive this kind of love and then I have to extend it through kindness service…

a lot of times fear is a deciding factor in how people act or react to people, thats a very stressful way to live, so praying one for another is a sure way to help overcome the pain of fear

Recently, while standing in line at Winchells, a customer called another customer (who looked Latino) the n-word. Not once, not twice but many many times. It took all I had to remember that this guy with 16 oz of Old E in a paper bag, was not only a friend of Bill W. but also a child of God. Fortunately when he turned and saw me in line he decided to leave the store.
