MOTHER’S DAY WARMTH OF UNCONDITIONAL LOVE IS FOR ALL –

“Those who don’t
get unconditional love
from their families need
to find it someplace else,
and one of the ways this
can take place is through
Twelve Step programs,
sponsors, therapists

Analysis: The Architecture of Acceptance

Love often feels like a rare gem. The post encourages us to seek warmth outside biological circles. Sexual Anorexia notes that 12-step programs offer vital support. We find kinship in sponsors and therapists. These bonds reflect the grace of a Higher Power. Such connections heal the deepest wounds of the soul.

Non-judgment remains the cornerstone of true recovery. The Basic Text demands compassion for every person seeking help. We must listen without casting stones or critiques. Walt Whitman compares this kindness to the sun. It warms everything it touches without discrimination. Bell Hooks argues that “love is as love does” (Hooks, 2000, p. 13). True affection requires active, consistent care for another.

Native traditions also emphasize this universal kinship. Wellbriety teachings remind us that “healing belongs to everyone” (White Bison, 2002, p. 45). We treat our neighbors as sacred relatives. This mindset fosters a safe space for growth. We release the need to act as judges. Instead, we become the light that aids a struggling friend.

I go where the love is by paying special attention to having gratitude for people who love me. I feel this is my one of the most powerful and vital expressions of gratitude.

I have been joining online groups who share similar interests and having long voice calls to just chat and enjoy others company lately which has been really nice. It’s great to have people you can talk to about your special interests and it just goes to show that you can always find someone who shares them!

My mom definitely makes me feel safe. She’s supported me so much in my recovery. She’s my rock and I hope to make amends to her with my sobriety.

My sponsor makes me feel safe, and so do the other people in my home group. I like going to the meeting and just by walking in the door I immediately feel safer.

I don’t have to go far to where the Love Is… there’s a ton of love right here at the Art House where I am currently residing… I am currently working the 9th step and making amends to those who I love… My higher power is love… so I don’t have to go far it’s right here in front of me and within me!

The love is through my higher power, through friends and through family. By expressing my love it comes back to me.

Thank you for sharing recovery with me. Grateful.

My best friend is one of the safest people in my life, and has been for years. He’s the only one who has truly seen me through my best and my worst, yet he remains by my side. I can speak without judgment, I can share anything with him, and always know that it is safe to do so. I feel so lucky to have found someone that is so unabashedly in my corner.

For me love is making a living amends to those I said that I loved but not showing in the past. Today I try to be a light to those who are around me . so for me sobriety is key.. there is no love if I am not 100%…

Currently my love comes from community. I am grateful for all the love that I receive and remain hopeful that it will grow with time and effort. Happy Mothers Day to all the moms.

“Go where the love is” is such an important reminder to us to find community! Community can be anything, from a spiritual group to friends, to family or chosen family, to people you play games or sports with. Being in community with others is so important.

For me family means love… That’s where I go for that familiar love. Even when I wasn’t loving myself I knew that I still had my mothers love… Lets don’t forget a brother’s love and love for nephews…. I receive love back..

Good morning everyone + welcome to another beautiful day. Here is today’s thought. In the 70’s, there was a TV show called “Moving On”. It was about the adventures of two truckers, traveling through the states with all sorts of experiences with the folks they would meet. Week after week, they kept “moving on”, down the road to new adventures + new people.

We too must keep moving on, down the road or up the path to our new adventures + experiences that God has for us. Don’t drag your feet. Keep moving onward + upward towards your goals.

    Blessings. BB

Mother’s Day can place an unbearable burden on both mother and child. “Prove that you love me,” we may say to our children. “But you made mistakes in raising me,” the child says to the parent. The truth is we all fumbled along the best that we could. We made mistakes, we hurt one another, we messed up along the way. For me, mother’s day is about celebration – a day I can call my children and thank them for letting me be their mom. Happy Mothers’ Day.
