Analysis: The Language of Kindness

Kindness acts as a bridge between souls. It Works: How and Why places compassion at the center of service. We support others through their darkest hours. Every effort becomes a gift. This practice stabilizes our shared journey.

Harmony arises from simple, noble habits. Twelve Steps and Twelve Traditions suggests a pause during conflict. We surrender our own will to a Higher Power. This surrender invites peace into every interaction. Courtesy and justice define our daily conduct. These principles align our lives with universal truth.

Annie Lennox encourages us to make kindness our default setting. Small acts transform the world around us. Wellbriety literature reinforces this ancient wisdom. “Kindness remains the greatest medicine for the spirit” (White Bison, 2002, p. 45). The Dalai Lama also emphasizes this vital truth (Dalai Lama, 1999). He teaches that kindness is the essence of humanity. Our actions ripple outward to touch others. We create a better reality through thoughtful deeds.

¡OH, QUÉ ALIVIO ES! – PASO 3

(It Works: How and Why, p. 109)

(12 y 12, p. 93)

ANNIE LENNOX –

“Pregúntate: ¿Has sido amable hoy?

One kind thing I’ve already done today was give someone (donate) someone, some coins is the word I prefer these days. Change, gang, and the like sound like hang. Even just being cordial with people, and caring is productive, although if slightly too caring I can see how I could become very codependent like in essence.

The pain I deal with daily is a pain of self will. Being of service, talking with my higher power, listening to my higher power, gives me relief.

When there’s pain, I seek relief from spiritual practices, like reading comforting Psalms or calling another believer and praying to my higher power who is the great physician…

I think my physical pain is the most, since I don’t feel too much emotional or mental pain. The teas I’ve been drinking have been helping as well as added supplements that I now take as well. Taking care of this physical pain makes my life easier in dealing with added temptations that may arise in my life.

I get a lot of relief from meditation these days. Also letting go of obsessions and tertiary addictions as well.

I feel relief by living in the moment. By focusing on what’s nice right now. My housing situation is past tenuous- I don’t know where I’ll be living next month at all. I need boxes or rubbermaids to pack into. I just have to hope that the shelter will have space next month. But my bed is soft right now, and I’m going to compartmentalize so I can enjoy it. Just for today.

For me the Real Pain lies within the obsession. However when that obsession is removed, it turns back into a thought which I can Crush with my higher powers defense… when a thought appears it must be crushed immediately before the thought becomes an obsession which for me like I said is very painful

To deal with pain I remind myself that it is a human emotion and a natural part of the human experience. It may be uncomfortable, but it is necessary in life.

Expectations cause pain. Expectations are predetermined resentments if I expect in terms of absolutes. By simply being, without the judgement or weight of expectations the pain is reduced and with continued repetition of practice the pain ends. I am grateful to my Higher Power for giving me the tools to heal and recognize my own life.

I feel the power to use has been lifted. But the “ism” still remains. The pain I feel when I’m not willing to let go and let God can be unbearable when I allow it to persists. Over and over again, I find that I must actively engage in some other activity that feels productive to stay out of the torturous cycle of doubt and self-pity I still can easily fall prey to.

In more than one 12-Step program; and the issue still remains how do I live Step 3 every day? When I lose the present, I get caught up in fear, worry and regret. I do not have to live in that painful space if I can remember that I have a Higher Power and that Higher Power always offers me love and support.

Good morning everyone + happy Wednesday. Today is truly a great day. Let freedom ring. For all women + for all men, let there be peace + equality.

Living sober brings me a new peace, a new freedom, + a new serenity. Embrace your new life + pass it on.

    Blessings. BB

I often doubt the worthiness of what I’m doing. This second guessing just doesn’t need to be done.

I don’t want to worry about what others think of me. I don’t want to constantly worry about what my future holds. I don’t want to worry if the world and its people are going to be okay. I need to feel loved and I’m worried I won’t have that.
