From BYRON – “Some indicators I use to gauge my spiritual progression definitely are all internal. I grew up not learning how to regulate my emotions and learned to be reactive to survive. I now know I’m growing in handling situations as an observer though I still get setbacks at times.  Progress not perfection I am aware. …”

Analysis: The Gentle Art of Healing

Self-examination transforms our hidden shadows. As Bill Sees it reveals this deep truth. Honest reflection brings grace into our darkest places. Humility opens our hearts completely. A Higher Power grants essential strength then. We embrace this quiet inner shift.

Mentorship guides our clumsy first steps. It Works, How and Why explains this vital support. Sponsors illuminate unfamiliar paths for us. We learn self-appraisal through their wisdom. Trust replaces our deep-seated fear. Shared experience builds lasting inner safety.

Henry David Thoreau understood human fragility deeply. Delicate handling preserves our finest human qualities. We often treat ourselves too harshly. Carl Jung similarly advocated for self-compassion (Jung, 1961). Healing requires infinite patience and tender care. Wellbriety teachings echo this gentle sentiment. “Gentleness brings healing to the wounded spirit” (White Bison, 2002, p. 112). Small steady steps create profound transformation.

(As Bill Sees it, p. 10)

(It Works, How and Why, p. 28)

HENRY DAVID THOREAU –

— Henry David Thoreau (1817 – 1862), poeta estadounidense

Análisis

El autoexamen transforma nuestras sombras ocultas. As Bill Sees it revela esta profunda verdad.

It Works, How and Why explica este apoyo vital.

One of the indicators is inner peace…. if that steady flow of inner piece is interrupted, I must find a solution to whatever that person place or thing is that is causing disruption…

The peace that passes all understanding. When I feel this, especially in the face of some self perceived turmoil in life, I know my God is with me.

Perfectionism is a habit that leads me to fail right out of the gate. Trying to correct a pen drawing until it looks thick, squiggly, and lost. Editing my writing until it’s wordy and lost the plot entirely. It’s a gift to make something and let it be done.

I think when I become too perfectionistic in my mindset that I’m settin’ me up for failures, because sometimes there’s outer things outside of me, outside of my control. When I try to control everything around me in a perfectionistic way I could fail, and become very depressed, so it’s better that I set small goals to reach the larger goals, to have more realistic successes that way.

Perfection will lead to failure every day. Progress is measure and will demonstrate progress, first for me, and importantly for those watching to see how I am doing in recovery. Progress is healthy, perfection leads to addiction.

Thank you for sharing recovery with me. Grateful.

Perfection is unattainable. I’m not going to strive for something that I cannot get.
Progress builds momentum, and even though I may have situations where I fail I can learn from those mistakes and move forward into a progressive motion in the right direction.

Some indicators I use to guage my spiritual progression definitely are all internal. I grew up not learning how to regulate my emotions and learned to be reactive to survive. I now know I’m growing in handling situations as an observer though I still get setback at times. Progress not perfection I am aware. Another way is my internal peace, I don’t let things take space in my head and if they do I ask why. I get into action. I am kind to myself as well as again am aware of the narrative in my head

FEATURED POST FROM THE ZONR VAULT – My main gauge is my heart. Its rate and its purity. I feel most spiritually aligned when I feel the flow within me as smooth as a cool, clear brook over well-worn stones. (9/4/18)
