 Analysis: Cultivating the Bloom

Dark corners hide profound inner treasures. As Bill Sees it reveals this truth. Honest self-search brings fresh vision. Grace touches our negative sides. Humility opens our hearts widely. Consequently, a Higher Power offers vital help.

Healing demands gentle companion support. It Works, How and Why explains this need. Sponsors guide our unfamiliar self-appraisal. Therefore, we navigate difficult inner work safely. Compassion softens our harsh judgments.

Henry David Thoreau compared human qualities to delicate fruit blooms. Careful handling preserves our finest traits. Sadly, people rarely treat each other tenderly. Viktor Frankl similarly emphasized human dignity during suffering (Frankl, 1946). Wellbriety wisdom also teaches gentle self-restoration (White Bison, 2002). “We heal by treating our wounded spirits with deep tenderness” (White Bison, 2002, p. 112). Ultimately, patience transforms our inner shadows into light.

(As Bill Sees it, p. 10)

(It Works, How and Why, p. 28)

HENRY DAVID THOREAU –

— Henry David Thoreau (1817 – 1862), poeta estadounidense

Análisis

Los rincones oscuros ocultan profundos tesoros internos. As Bill Sees it revela esta verdad.

It Works, How and Why explica esta necesidad.

Sometimes just being a compassionate listener is more helpful than trying to rush in and fix somebody with quick know it all answers…

I’ve been very caring when someone is emotional by trying to be there to get them through their hardships, while of course displaying safe boundaries when need be. I do prefer to be caring above all, as I spiritually am in tuned with too.

Being caring is what I prefer, and Buddhism principles, plus humbleness teaches me this greatly. Assisting someone get through tough times is such a great value to me, and bein’ understandin’ of course I become more aware that through C.O.D.A. I I have to still display boundaries. The worrying gets so tough though at times.

I am supportive of change by doin’ service work, and helpin’ people by distributin’ flyers, and promotin’ support groups to help people. I’ve also got my peer support specialist certification to further my good causes with people that can be helped. Being easy on me, and understandin’ my situation is important to me.

When someone is dealing with pain I have found that just simply being an ear goes a long way. Just sitting down with them in the same room and letting the space do the healing which God I believe is the space.
And if there’s crying involved I will be the shoulder as well…

A close friend lost one of her cats the other day and she was very distraught. When reaching out to her, I listened to her words. And then I listened to her pain. Instead of offering advice or telling it would be better, I simply kept listening and reflected the words she was using back to her. This validated the pain she was in. After our call, she texted appreciation that she felt heard.

Often the simple act of being there means just that, hearing, listening and validating what they are going through. Instead of the tendency many have of offering to fix it.

Thank you for sharing recovery with me. Grateful.

I have a friend who experienced deep and severe trauma, As a survivor I listen and let him know he is not alone. I let him know to work the steps and seek guidance from his HP, and sponsor. I hope one day he can be free

I have been supportive to my wife as she struggles with the stress of Covid lockdown and homeschooling our children. We do things together like cook and watch TV afterwards and go for walks. Things to create a sense of normalcy and I do these things even if I don’t feel like it at the moment, because I know it’s important to my wife and I love her deeply and want her to be happy and at peace.

FEATURED POST FROM THE ZONR VAULT – “I’m not aware of any serious problems my friends are having. I’m concerned that friends don’t share with me. I think maybe my friends only share problems with family, or not at all. All I can do is try to listen and not be ego driven. But then its up to them.” (Adam – 12/5/2012)
