Analysis: Action Without Attachment

Devoted seekers combine prayer with energetic action. The Basic Text emphasizes using daily recovery tools. We must process complex emotions with courage. Humans naturally stumble during their growth. Perfect performance remains an impossible expectation.

Spiritual momentum requires continuous effort. The Big Book cautions that inactive belief perishes quickly. Ancient teachings in the Bhagavad Gita echo this timeless wisdom. We must detach from outcomes. Similarly, Mahatma Gandhi advocated selfless service. “Action expresses priorities” (Gandhi, 1932, p. 45). Furthermore, a Higher Power directs our personal evolution. Wellbriety principles reinforce this sacred mindset. “We focus on the steps, not the destination” (White Bison, 2002, p. 142). Willing hearts discover peace through action.

Si fuéramos perfectos, no seríamos humanos.

— Bhagavad Gita (250 a.C.

Identify and Define it, examine the damage and become entirely ready to humbly ask God to remove it

I try to be a 1% better than yesterday, every day. Through prayer and practice looking back I see results.

Step seven as a whole has been action. Consciously considering my actions at the beginning and end of each day, even focusing on the expression of one defect, has already begun changing my intents and attitudes. Pettiness isn’t as attractive when I think about how futile it is.

For trusting in a higher power and not worrying about outcomes takes a lot of willpower I think, paradoxically. Eventually it becomes easy, but to let go of the reins and trust like that requires a level of will that needs to be worked up to in my opinion

Giving everything to my higher power letting him take it all turning everything over to Jesus doesn’t mean I’m not going to have bad days. What it does is rid me of all the worry of the future and makes it easier to live in the here and now… this is where the Mantra one day at a time truly works…

I trust that things are the way they are meant to be even when at times it might be foggy. Pushing the river never works, flowing with it does. It is not always easy. There are things in my life right now that I would like to be going faster or differently. In these moments, I have to trust, do the things that are in my power to control and let go of the things that are not in my control.

Thank you for sharing recovery with me. Grateful.

How can I trust my higher power more, and stop worryin’ about what comes next?
I can trust my great spiritual guides by not thinkin’ change isn’t possible, and I’ll forever be stuck in a rut. Any good time I have right now in abstainin’ is good for moi(me). Plus look at all I do. I go to school, and am active with my case managers. When bad occurrences do occur I’m just so fortunate my mind isn’t dwindlin’ or gone like sadistic other people. Sometimes people get stuck in old habits like when they were in deep active addiction. That’s why I’m blessed to have my sanity, and know how important it is to keep sanity, especially in front of other people wantin’ the same. Wow, I look at others and wonder if their minds will ever come back from the bad drugs they did. Imagine disrespectin’ people too, and feelin’ all high and mighty after usin’ bad drugs. My great spirit knows my heart is pure so always protects me(moi) from somethin’ like that. I’ll never, because I’m shote let anyone walk all over me(moi). I’ll always stand my ground, my great spiritual advisers teach me(moi) that too. To have sanity right now in my life is such a great blessin’ from above.
