ONENESS: The Process of Becoming ONE with the Universe – Step 10

He thinks himself lost to

we are but one thread in it.
What we do to the web, we

things connect.”

In what ways have you experienced becoming one with the world around you, lately?

The Judge Monkey

Once upon a time, two cats were passing through a street. Suddenly they spotted a loaf of bread lying beneath a tree. Both pounced upon it and caught the loaf at the same time. “It is mine. I saw it first,” claimed one cat. While the other said, “I pounced upon it first and so it belongs to me.” After having fought for a while, one cat said, “Let us divide it into two and take one piece each.” “Indeed, a good idea,” said the other cat. “But how do we divide it now?”

A monkey sitting on the branch of the tree had watched all that happened between the two cats. “That loaf of bread looks good. I could do with it myself,” he thought. Slowly he came down from the tree and walked up to the confused cats.

“Yes, my dear friends! Can I help you?” asked the monkey. The cats told the monkey what the problem was and said, “Why do not you be the judge between us?” When the monkey nodded, the cats said, “Please divide this loaf for us.”

The clever monkey smilingly broke the bread into two pieces. But one piece was a little bigger that the other. “OH no! I will take a little bite of this bigger piece to make both equal,” said the monkey, slyly. He took a bite from the bigger piece. But, he had taken a big bite. “Uh oh! Now it has become smaller than the other piece. I will just have to take a little bite from this piece now,” said the clever monkey.

The Judge Monkey took another bite. The two cats sat in front of the monkey, seeing the loaf of bread they had found getting smaller and smaller. When the whole loaf was eaten by the monkey, the monkey said, “I am sorry. I was really difficult to divide that loaf. I must be going now.” And the monkey jumped onto the tree and was gone. “If only we had not quarreled among ourselves, we would have remained united and we need not have to go to the monkey and to become hungry now,” said the two cats.  (http://www.english-for-students.com/The-Judge-Monkey.html)

My spirit has been depleted lately. Although recently homelessness problem in Los Angeles has caused me to feel even greater kinship for those who have no home

My fictional character is static shock. I try to respect the web of life. Every now and then I’m undercover, but it doesn’t stop me I’m respecting karma.

Today I connected in a DA meeting about the nature of that program and how being in debt need not be a monetary measure but can also be as a result of having made unfulfilled promises to employees or others to whom we are accountable like friends. An aspect of DA that had not occurred to me until reading Step 8 today after 40 days or so in the program. While I don’t have unsecured monetary debt today there are certainly other ways I need to be more “accountable.”

I haven’t…lately. This has its benefits, as it allows for a feeling of significant vulnerability which causes me to examine all around me.

Much love to everyone on this site. I feel honored and privileged to share here. We sometimes joke and sing, “Can you feel the love tonight…” The truth is, love is where we bring it. I thank everyone so much for bringing love to these comments. Peace.

becoming one, the only way i can do that is if my spiritual life is in order, then do i really feel that positive message and energy from the meetings.

So, being out of the country and away from my meetings, amounted to being away from my Program. I had no daily readers, no telephone conversations, but I could read this web page. I stepped away from my Program – I hated my circumstances – I could not find the lessons – I forgot to call on my Higher Power. I said my life became the 7th ring of hell – but it was only my mind giving me old messages and encouraging old behavior. I thank my Higher Power that I am back – my stomach and my head are healing – recovering. I have got to stay out of my head!

On the days that you did share here, I felt as if we were one in sharing a little bit of our journey together.

I rarely leave LA because I so love my routine here so vicariously experiencing your exotic circumstances was very special.

Thank-you for that and welcome home.
