Analysis: The Radiance of Honest Integrity

Living spiritually naked means living with total honesty. We shed our heavy masks to find a better life. It Works, How & Why describes this emerging integrity. True spiritual paths do not require us to be perfect.

The White Bison teachings guide us toward a clearer vision. Daily prayers ask the Great Mystery for guidance and clarity. The Red Road to Wellbriety emphasizes the value of the slow journey (White Bison, 2002). Consequently, “recovery is a process, not an event” (White Bison, 2002, p. 54). Heart-centered living allows us to see the world differently.

Furthermore, Thich Nhat Hanh taught the power of deep looking. He noted that “understanding is the very foundation of love” (Nhat Hanh, 1998, p. 5). Vision involves looking with kindness rather than fear. Such wisdom aligns perfectly with the Sioux concept of Cante Ista. Observers see the world without the weight of old judgments.

Our Higher Power grants us this new gift of sight. Faith and responsibility now replace our old, fearful attitudes. This change alters how we handle every difficult situation. Peaceful hearts find stillness in the center of the storm. Every morning offers a fresh start to practice this sight. Ultimately, we walk under the sun with nothing left to hide.

The Red Road to Wellbriety enfatiza el valor del viaje pausado (White Bison, 2002).

Pregunta Concluyente

Choosing when and where to be transparent is more important for me. It’s not good to be thin as gauze at work. In close relationships, it’s incredibly important. Disclosure is powerful.

I have a tendency to hold things in because somewhere along the way I’ve maintained the belief that how I feel isn’t important. That how I’m reacting is silly. But when I am completely transparent that I am hurting, I find that people around me truly do care, and I don’t have to carry my burdens alone. Transparency has brought me closer to my peers, and given me a deeper understanding of the good in their hearts.

Rigorous honesty is the foundation of my program. Every time I have the opportunity to live honestly there is improvement in my life. The core to this is self honesty. For it is when I am able to be dishonest to my self that the greatest danger of relapse occurs.

Thank you for sharing recovery with me. Grateful.

Being transparent in the program is opening yourself up to things that could trigger a relapse. Transparency in sharing your feelings and struggles allows you to repair relationships damaged from past dishonesty

recently I took a family member out to practice their driving and I didn’t allow the 1000 other excuses that popped into my head to get into the way. That was a rewarding experience.

I go thru phases. Sometimes if I click on the USFZ meditation for the day I find myself much refreshed. Total silence is a bit trickier but some of the meditations have clues on how to stay in a deep trance like state. I don’t hear my inner voice per say but answers seem to bubble up that feel like the right thing to do at the end of session.

Its hard for me too i just want to get up and go. However
Even if i tell myself to just talk to God just for a minute
    it helps

It is hard for me to meditate. It is hard for me to just be still for any period of time. I find that I am sometimes running from some truth I do not want to hear – some reality that simply is.
