Analysis: The Breath of Living Faith

Doubt fuels a living connection with the Spirit of the Universe. Miguel de Unamuno argues that stagnant faith lacks vitality. The Big Book encourages a personal vision of the Great Mystery. Consequently, we reject rigid dogmas to find our own path. This search requires courage and honest questioning.

The Basic Text suggests a practical approach to belief. We practice the program despite our lingering uncertainties. Action often precedes a change in feeling. Søren Kierkegaard believed that faith requires a daring leap (Kierkegaard, 1983, p. 82). Furthermore, this movement creates a bridge to healing. Wellbriety teachings mirror this active pursuit of truth. “Faith is the bird that feels the light” (White Bison, 2002, p. 154). We walk forward until the light becomes visible.

A Higher Power restores our minds through these daily steps. We embrace the rhythm of the universe without fear. In fact, doubt serves as a companion, not an enemy. This process leads us toward a lasting sanity.

¿QUEREMOS REALMENTE UNA “FE QUE NO DUDA”? – PASO 2

Is it okay to have questions while trying something new?

Very much so . Moving to a new country and starting a new life is definitely become questions and faith and yes, some doubts and fears but I keep pushing through and past . . because the only way out is through.

My faith in God is Not merely intellectual belief, but is naturally demonstrated through actions, obedience, and being of service to someone… a well-known scripture ,James 2:14-26 is a wonderful example of this…faith without works is dead…

Blind faith can be as dangerous as no faith. We see that all around us in today’s world. My faith is stronger every day through experience and observation.

Thank you for sharing recovery with me. Grateful.

And faith without works is dead. A thing can be defined by the effects of its absence or presence by turns. I chose to have faith that things will be okay, even when I don’t believe it. It’s difficult to have faith when facing the inevitable. But I can keep some part of myself safe, wherever I have to sleep.

I don’t use the word faith at all really, but do use the word hope, and look for stronger words too lately to get my hopes where they need to be, in knowing I can achieve in life what I’m settin’ out to achieve. Making goals to stick to increases my hopes, and helps me to believe that I will accomplish what I’m settin’ out to accomplish.

I have doubt in myself, it sits opposite of the faith I have in my self. Through each aspect of my life, the goal is to keep the faith stronger and more prominent than the doubt which seeks to diminish my light. To achieve this, I use vigilance to build the focus of daily accomplishments, attaining personal goals and aspiring to improve each day.

Some days, are truly better than others. Yet the control is within me to achieve more better days than defeats. Currently that is hard work. As the hole I dug for myself since Feb of 2024 is big, and living in LA makes the hole bigger, so too are the rewards of potential. This is not an easy place to start over from the bottom. And it is easy for doubt to say, it’s impossible, I’ll never make it, the journey is simply to hard. That doubt looks me in the mirror constantly.

The Yin is always proportional to the Yang. This is the City of Angels, and there are Angels so very many that help every day. And in that same mirror, faith says back to me, Yes I can, I have done it before, and with each step I grow stronger and with each day I wake, say the serenity prayer and exclaim I am still here and I have Faith that with perseverance and resilience so too shall I rise again like the Phoenix from my own ashes.

Yes there is doubt, my Faith is stronger.

For me, it is important for me not to compromise my faith on the bad days. If things aren’t going my way I can think well why should I even pray what’s the use… this is when my true faith is tested… to continue to pray through the bad times and hold fast to my faith… trusting in my higher power and not folding like a cheap beach chair…..

The quote from the movie Conclave captures this perfectly – “Certainty is the great enemy of unity. Certainty is the deadly enemy of tolerance.”

My faith is only strong BECAUSE I doubt. If I didn’t doubt, my faith would not have been tested and tried and pulled and examined. Doubt is beautiful. We spend so much of our lives looking for certainty, that if we can learn to live in the grey area, in that space of doubt, we might just find the divine.

I find that I am constantly, “acting as if”. That way I don’t let my fears get in the of my dreams. Nowadays, doubt does not seem to be a factor.

Good morning everyone + Happy Thursday. Here is today’s thought. In my early sobriety, there were so many things I did not understand. I had to “Act As If”. I had to “Suit Up + Show Up”. I had to “Bring The Body, The Mind Would Follow”. When I did these things, I eventually learned. I eventually changed. Have faith. Take that leap of faith. You too will believe, You too will change. You too will grow. And you too will become. Blessings. BB
