“If one of our character defects is dishonesty, we can think about situations in our lives where we normally lie and imagine how it would feel, to tell the truth for a change.”

Analysis: Swallowing the Truth
The Big Book demands deep introspection. We swallow massive chunks of hard truth. Honest self-examination marks a brilliant beginning. Cicero warned that one single falsehood breeds another. Small deceptions require massive fabrications later. Thus, dishonesty traps our fragile minds.
It Works, How & Why champions radical authenticity. Imagine a life free from constant cover-ups. Truth brings unexpected emotional relief. Meanwhile, a Higher Power restores our integrity. Wellbriety movements teach daily accountability. “Honesty builds the foundation for lasting healing” (White Bison, 2002, p. 74). Wise leaders inspire transparent living. We choose honesty over comforting deceit.

— Cicerón (106 a.C. – 43 a.C.), filósofo y estadista romano
