Some Great Ways We can Really ‘Let Go and Let God’ – Step

“No trumpets
sound when the
important decisions
of our life are made.
Destiny is made
known silently.
– Agnes de Mille (1909 – 1993) U.S. musical theater choreographer

From Adam —“… Things that have been stagnant in my life have started moving.  I’ve been thinking about ways to move my career ahead …  And I’ve been gradually knocking off things that have been in the back of my mind for years.  Not drinking and looking at my life in a more hopeful light has lead me to make the effort to move forward again.” (on how to let go of drinking)

Describe some recent changes in behaviors or decisions you’ve made after having decided to “let go and let God”?

Hawk and Nightingale :

On a pleasant evening in spring, the breeze was blowing gently. The cool weather made a nightingale very happy. She flew to a high branch of a tree and sat on it. As the breeze blew, her heart filled with joy and soon she began singing. Her sweet song resounded all around. All the birds and animals around the tree were busy enjoying her sweet song.

A hungry hawk was flying past. He heard the song and looked around. He spotted the nightingale, flew down and caught her in his claws. But the nightingale said, “What is the use of eating a small bird like me? Let me go. A strong and able hunter can surely get a larger prey sometime later.”

The hawk said, “Do you think I am a fool? I cannot let go of food when I am hungry. There is no surety that I will get some other prey. Why should I let go of a golden chance now, thinking of what I might get tomorrow?”

So the intelligent hawk quickly ate up the little bird and flew away.  (http://www.english-for-students.com/Hawk-and-Nightingale.html)

One decision I have made is to retreat from involvement in a loved one’s life and let my HP take the reigns. Unfortunately, my presence hasn’t seemed to help. And after a month of letting go, my absence has definitely given me more peace of mind.

Good morning everyone + happy Thursday. Here is today’s thought. Sometimes an event happens in our lives which causes us to reevaluate our goals. We have to resort to Plan B. This can be difficult, especially if we were so focused on the Plan A life. But God is always with us + will guide yus through your new Plan. This is because this is God’s plan. So, when needed, make your Plan B into your Plan A. Blessings. BB

It seems like things that have been stagnant in my life have started moving. I’ve been thinking about ways to move my career ahead, everything is lined up to buy a house, and I’ve been gradually knocking off things that have been in the back of my mind for years. Not drinking and looking at my life in a more hopeful light has lead me to make the effort to move forward again.

I think my HP is more involved in my considerations of what actions to take and what not to do.

I do not know the magic formula that made me come to a 12-Step meeting. I try to figure out whether reading is more important, praying, going to meetings. How do the slogans work? I know when I remember them, my life becomes a lot easier. I know when I read literature, I learn so much; I know when I go to meetings I feel relief. When I pray I know anything is possible.
