Analysis: The Power of Release

The present moment offers true freedom. The Basic Text teaches us to drop yesterday’s heavy burden. Future fears vanish when we embrace today. We take necessary actions without worry. A Higher Power handles the ultimate outcome. This surrender brings deep inner peace.

Old attachments trap the wandering soul. The Big Book advises us to seek willingness for release. Sylvia Robinson noted that letting go requires true strength. Holding onto past anchors drains our vitality. We must loosen our grip on control.

Wellbriety wisdom echoes this vital truth. “We heal when we release the past” (White Bison, 2002, p. 134). Lao Tzu also championed this effortless path (Lao Tzu, c. 4th Century BCE). He taught that flowing water overcomes rigid rock. Wisdom blooms in the fertile soil of now. Each breath invites a fresh start.

Aferrarse a viejos anclajes agota nuestra vitalidad. Debemos aflojar nuestro control.

Pregunta Concluyente

¿De qué cosa pesada puedes dejar de preocuparte ahora mismo?

Every day I let go of worry about the future and have more faith to trust in my higher power.

Every time that I let go, which means trusting God more than my own plans, it releases worry, and brings successful inner peace….

I do tend to worry a lot too, but I’ve been working hard mentally not to live in the past, because I could get so caught up. Even though I don’t make reservations, sometimes in the past I’d be out, and about, then all of a sudden end up with a drink. Drinking worries me about my safety so much. In wellbriety I’m wanting to be that Euro good example (what I’m mixed with), so that some of the stigmas against Euro culture is erased. Groups like wellbriety have assisted me against worrying so much.

Moment to moment I let go of disturbing past events, like getting hit by a car for example, and make those learning experiences to not get caught up in the past, but learn ways to be even safer, and not trusting of others all the time. I’ve seen declines in mental stabilities that have caused some to go into psychosis they never come out of, so that’s a sign for me to limit my social time also. Life is something where we learn different tactics for safety I think, and that’s important to me, because I mean the world to me.

I think there is a release and a freedom that comes with letting go, and I think that it counter intuitively also applies to our dreams and ambitions, too. If we are too attached to the end result we miss out on the experience of the journey. By letting go and doing things anyways I think they’re much more fulfilling.

Staying in the now gives me the present of today. When I am living in the past or anxious about the future I am not staying grounded in the now. The now keeps me working toward goals.

Thank you for sharing recovery with me. Grateful.

I love the way the basic text and the big book break down step 5. By writing everything down I’m able to examine certain Behavior patterns and not repeat them. Bringing them out in the open makes it possible for me to deal with them constructively but I can’t make these changes alone I need God’s help and I am so grateful for him to be working in my life today

Good to have a reminder to be “willing” – that’s the best I can do. Recently diagnosed with trigeminal neuralgia, a pain disease – I am freaked out and striving to live in the now, and know my Higher Power will take care of my needs. Thank you SFZ. ONE DAY AT A TIME

Gee, I”m sorry to hear that. I sounds like you into action though. And keep us posted, I find sharing helps to let go of the fears we create in our heads.

Thank you so much, I appreciate it. Looking to read a Lance Armstrong biography – or people who overcame huge obstacles.
