AA.MAKING WAY FOR SPIRITUAL GROWTH – ” … we go beyond merely asking for the power to live up to God’s [our HP’s]* plan for our own lives. We begin to seek out ways to be of service, to make a difference in the [lives] of another … .” (It Works, How & Why, p. 81)

Better to light a candle than to curse the darkness.
This proverb says that whenever we have some difficulty in life we should try to overcome the difficulty rather than to curse the difficulty. Darkness is a bad thing because we will not be able to see anything in the dark. But just by cursing the darkness we will not get light, if we want to get light we have to get up and light a candle.
There is a very good analogy for this in everyday life. Many students after completing their education will start searching for a government job.
But because of various reasons they may not get a job and they become dejected and disillusioned in life. If they start realizing that there are many other Opportunities in life, like jobs in private sector, starting a small business or opening a small shop they will not feel dejected. So when ever we are in a difficult situation we should start looking at the reason for the situation and then gradually find a solution.
There are various options to come out of a difficult time and to overcome the hard times. Instead of blaming the stars and the situations, we had better take initiatives and find solutions to our difficulties.
Something drew me here. Some times your higher power asked you to do what you love to do. You need to listen.
I remind myself in the mornings…or on a daily basis how important it is that I have another day to make life matter. That keeps me pretty much on the even keel, even when my limits are being tested. (5)
today’s USFZ empathize we should keep in mind to be of service2 others we go about our day. I like to zeed in the morning because it helps to set the tone for the day. (13 mins)
Ah, Payday! Another day when my Higher Power has provided for me. I did the footwork – I got to work every day – and tried to make sure that I did my part. Just for today, I am warm, dry and uncrowded. Today I am grateful. Today I intend to do my part. Namaste.
Joshua Fit the Battle at Jehrico is one of my favorite videos here. There something uplifting I get from the joy and determination I feel in the song.
I like knowing that powerless does not mean helpless. As I try to hear the voice of my Higher Power in all that I do, I know I shall be cared for – and that I can extend a helping hand to those in need. How do I know who’s in need? I don’t. I have to rely on the silence – the silence into which my Higher Power will always speak.
