Why Ours is the Most Progressive Movement Ever Conceived – Step 1

“In a country that was built on a protest.” “You say to protest is wrong because you spoke out of turn. Because you spoke up for people that were marginalized … you spoke up for people that we don’t want to care about. In a country built on people who speak out of turn, who spoke out of turn, who thought out of turn, to build a nation. I come from a long line of people who have resisted.” – Rep. Justin J. Pearson on desire (1994 – ) was one of two Black representatives expelled from the Tennessee state house on 4/6/2023. The firsts since the Civil War.

The New King :

One day, all the animals of the forest gathered together. That day was the Election Day. The birds and animals of the forest were going to vote and elect a new king. After voting in the morning, the counting was completed in the evening.

The fox was declared to be the new king. His competitor the jackal had lost the election.

After losing the election, the jackal wanted to teach the fox a lesson.  So he started thinking.  And he saw a trap set by some hunters. They had left some meat to attract some animal to the trap.

The jackal went and told the fox that some meat was lying unattended. He could go and eat it. The fox rushed to the spot. He picked the meat and got caught in the trap.

The jackal called all the animals and showed them the fox and said, “If a king cannot control his desires and believes others without thinking, he can never be a good leader.”  (http://www.english-for-students.com/The-New-King.html)simple

I measure my desire and commitment to do anything by the actions I take. in recovery make sure that I always have a commitment to a meeting at least one and and I do my best to to be of service by being open minded and willing to hear and follow the group conscience.

Good morning everyone + Happy Sunday. Here is today’s thought. Remain strong even in the tempest. All we have to do is to have a desire, a real desire to stay sober. Offer yourself to God. Be helpful to all others. If we can do these simple tasks, we will conquer. We will live. We will be free. Blessings. BB

When the alcoholic with whom I had a relationship left, I was afraid I no longer qualified for Al-Anon. As time went on and my life kept getting better and better I felt I no longer needed Al-Anon. Two short weeks later I found myself engaging in old behavior. Al-Anon has helped me see I do not need to live with an alcoholic to “qualify.” If one alcoholic leaves, I will go find another; I will interfere needlessly in the lives and affairs of others; I will seek out situations to control. I go to Al-Anon meetings because I qualify myself.
