“Life is a process of becoming, a combination of states we have to go through. Where people fail is that they wish to elect a state and remain in it. This is a kind of death.”- Anais Nin (1903 – 1977), French American author

Analysis: The Architecture of Becoming

Life moves like a winding river. Initially, The Language of the Heart describes a hidden gift. Others often see our transformation before we do. Consequently, faith in a Higher Power slowly takes root. This growth requires time and patience. We are masterpieces in progress.

Recovery functions as a path of discovery. Furthermore, It Works: How and Why reminds us to accept mistakes. We discard the heavy mask of perfection. Specifically, Carl Rogers argued that the “good life is a process” (Rogers, 1961, p. 186). This constant movement defines our humanity. Anais Nin warns that staying static brings spiritual death.

Transformation flows through the seasons of the soul. Meanwhile, Wellbriety teachings connect us to this natural rhythm. “Healing involves the total person” (White Bison, 2002, p. 2). We walk the Red Road toward our true selves. Our Great Spirit guides every step forward. Ultimately, this journey leads to a vibrant, new existence.

Finding more patience in myself, for myself – as well as more patience for others. I’ve been trying to put myself in the shoes of those that cross my path, the ones that have me questioning. Why did they say or do that?

The continued growth of patience and perseverance in my recovery is noticeable. A willingness to be silent and listen to my higher power grants me peace.

Thank you for sharing recovery with me. Grateful.

Some of my personal spiritual growth is in conflict with my step work and I am working through that by changing a word that bothers me. That’s the beauty of the step work for me, that I can make it personal and place my spiritual journey first with my step work supporting and not conflicting.

I think I’m getting mentally stronger as the years pass in becoming more positive spiritually, and seeing more, and more how important it is that I stay on a path that’s right for me that I understand. There are spiritually racist people out there who may become lost, so keeping my path on the right path despite that, is essential to me more and more as the years pass.

I have discovered that it is a continually changing process and that my rate of growth is not linear. Sometimes the growth is stagnant, or almost regressive, and then at other times my progress makes a great leap forward. One thing has become certain, it is a continually changing process and it is imperative that I remain willing, open-minded and teachable. Most importantly, I need to learn to not take myself too seriously.

Good morning everyone + Happy Wednesday. Here is today’s thought. There is no denying that life in today’s world can be complicated. There are many forces fighting for our time + our attention. It seems overwhelming at times. Just remember that God is here + will always take care of us. Blessings. BB
